Random thoughts about darkness…
God took on the “dark” in the very beginning.
In fact, in my opinion, God did his most incredible work in the dark.
Genesis 1:1-4, “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.”
My day begins in the dark.
It’s in the darkness of the morning where I surrender myself to God for another day.
It’s in the darkness of the night where I thank God for the day and the opportunities He will bring me the next day.
It was in the darkest, ugliest, and most isolated moment in my life where I finally gave up and asked for His help. Amazingly, His light sliced through all the muck, mire, and debris I had placed in His path.
His light didn’t provide an instant fix for my situation.
His light gave me hope and shined upon the path I needed to take to “fix” myself without using drugs and alcohol.
God’s truth definitely shines most clearly in the dark.
If you don’t believe me, give Him a try.
John 1:5, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
