Proverbs 19:17 (NIV), “He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done.”
Today we continue our focus on the relational component of our Wheel of Life.
The Lord not only tells us to love and help others, but he “wired” us to be a blessing to others. I can never remember feeling bad after I extended a hand to someone in need.
I have a developmentally disabled son, and every morning when he gets on the bus, all of his comrades are upbeat with smiles on their faces.
My son and his friends have not been tainted by the world’s “self-focused” point of view. Every time I put him on the bus, I am given a great gift of unconditional love by a bunch of people simply being the way God wired us to be.
In Luke 6:38, Jesus says, “Give and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full –pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
Are you giving more than you are taking?
