This is a continuation of June 7th’s message…
While standing in line at this diner, I took particular interest in the gentleman standing in front of me in line. I could tell he was homeless. When the hostess asked if he needed to be seated, he told her, “No, all I want is a cup of ice water.”
He was given the ice water and he turned to head out the door.
In this moment my God-conscious was telling me to feed him while my Jay-conscious was saying, “I don’t have time and this has been a rough stretch in my life, I just want to enjoy a good breakfast while reading the newspaper and having my morning devotion to God.” Was the last thought from the previous sentence an oxymoron to God or what? 🙂
Luckily my God-conscious won out and I looked at him and said, “Hey, come with me, it looks as though you could use some breakfast.”
You would have thought I had handed him a million dollars as his eyes lit up and he followed me to our booth.
