Momentum

Momentum is not the result of one push. It is the result of many continual pushes over time.

I’m closing out my 18th week of training for Ironman Maryland and experienced the truth behind the opening quote after yesterday’s workout…I swam 2 miles without stopping.

At the beginning of this Ironman journey I took a glance at the various workouts I would be taking part in. When I saw I would be swimming 2 miles a couple of times a week, when I was two-thirds through the training, I shook my head and thought, “I just need to trust the plan, because there is no way I am capable of swimming 2 miles in one session.”

Momentum doesn’t just happen.

Continuous practice creates momentum.

Don’t throw in the towel before you’ve created some momentum or else you may miss out on doing something you never thought possible…I write from experience.
