Reflection
I have several Bibles and could easily be accused of having a Bible addiction, but over the past couple of years, I have settled on one Bible, and the one I use is pocket-sized with small print.
Every morning, I read the Proverb for the day. There are 31 Proverbs, and today, I will read scripture from Proverbs 29.
When I go to my Bible to read the Proverb, due to my Bible’s small print, I have to take my glasses off, and I place the Bible near my face to read it. Although I am nearly blind when it comes to seeing anything beyond a few inches from my eyes without my glasses or contact lenses, I have the absolute keenest eyesight when reading something nearly touching my nose.
There is a moral to this story…
Reading His word has always calmed my spirit, but when I place His word within a couple of inches from my eyes, my spirit hits a deeper level of calm and peace. I can better absorb what He is trying to teach me.
The devil loves to distract us. I’ve always been easily distracted and have had to find ways to outsmart the devil when he is trying to pull me off course. This is just one of several tricks I’ve developed over the years.
Now, back to the opening quote.
