Reflection
Last Friday, I ventured into the “wild” by standing in line at our county courthouse to vote early.
The moments up to casting my ballot were anything but wild.
People quietly stood in line, preparing themselves to exercise one of our great country’s many freedoms: the right to be heard at the ballot box.
While observing the process, I felt proud to know that not everyone in the world has OPPORTUNITIES like we Americans do. Tears came to my eyes as I took in the diversity of those around me. No matter how different we were, we were bound by the same OPPORTUNITY at that moment.
I, for one, do not take all the hype leading up to a Presidential election seriously. Politicians will say and do whatever they need to win. Unfortunately, the press is the same way.
My belief in Christ comforts me because whoever wins or loses, we are not going to interfere with the story He has created and allowed us the opportunity to be a part of.
Today and every day, I am grateful to have been born and raised in America, i.e., OPPORTUNITY.
Romans 13:1, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.”
