“I know that the experiences of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work He will give us to do.â€Â ―   Corrie ten Boom
This past Thursday marked Covington’s first annual Free Christmas Dinner. Over seventy servants dished out 725 meals to people from Covington and the surrounding communities. Leftovers were given to a local soup kitchen in order to bless an additional 200 hundred people with a hearty Christmas meal.
Next year’s event is slated for December the 19th (the 3rd Thursday of December), but who knows maybe we will do it more often…maybe a soup and sandwich meal once a quarter or monthly or weekly. I will just continue to report for duty and see what work the Big Guy has up his sleeve for me to do.
God’s dreams are pretty cool when we get out of the way and simply do what we are told to do.
Philippians 2:4, “Everyone shold look out not only for his own interests, but also for interests of others.”
1 John 3:12, “Whoever does not do what is right is not of God, especially the one who does not love his brother.”
THANKS TO ALL THE SERVANTS!
