You are only as sick as your secrets. ~Unknown
The devil loves it when he can get us to hold onto secrets which create negative vibes to our mental state. Those of us in recovery have a propensity for turning molehills into mountains and holding onto secrets can be a very destructive proposition.
We have a God who knows all of our secrets and wants us to give those secrets to Him because He knows it is through that action where we release the grip of the devil.
What secrets are you holding onto?
Pray for the willingness to give whatever you are holding onto to God. If you have a trusted friend, counselor or mentor, turn the secret(s) over to him or her and pray for God to give you the strength to not take them back.
Letting go of secrets often opens the door to a new and beautiful world we never knew existed.
Psalm 44:21 (NIV), “…would God have discovered it, since he knows the secrets of the heart?”
