Yesterday at around one o’clock in the afternoon the Good Lord saw fit to take my friend and former co-worker, Amy Fashner home to His kingdom in heaven. She may have lost her battle to cancer but it is pretty cool to think about what she gained in her loss.
Christ conquers death every day of the week.
When I heard of her passing I was reminded of a special poem my wife wrote years ago when our oldest son, Jason went off to college:
When closing the door of a room full of memories
pause briefly,
search the distant corners,
visit with the once-familiar faces in the worn photos,
dance to the distant laughter and the footsteps,
feel the embraces.
As you pull the door towards you
cry softly,
above all,
leave the door ajar.
Thank God for memories!
See you in heaven Aim…proud to call you friend and teammate.
