Lent, Peace, and Making Peace With Your Backstory

Making peace with your own backstory, and accepting that not all of it is good, is vital.

— Unknown —

Far too many people allow their backstory to be their life story.

Let go of your backstory so you can fully live the story He has written for you.

God has an amazing way of turning our not-so-pretty backstories into amazing new stories if we so choose…I write from experience.

2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

Journal your thoughts:

What am I grateful for today?

In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?

What will I deny myself so I may draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?

Prayer:

God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
