Lent, Peace, and Fixing Your Eyes

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

— The Apostle Paul - 2 Corinthians 4:18 —

It’s amazing how messed up the world tries to make us if we fix our focus on it and its contents. Case in point–the Coronavirus.

I’m a health care professional, so I never take any type of disease lightly but what some news agencies have done with this virus is simply reprehensible…I’m referring to politicizing the situation.

It’s really not the news’ fault though; it’s the people who watch, listen and believe it.

Be careful who and what you put your faith in.

I choose to put my faith in the Eternal News…which I can’t see but I have faith that it is all good and quite peaceful.

How about you?

Journal your thoughts:

What am I grateful for today?

In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?

What will I deny myself so I may draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?

Prayer:

God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
