Lent, Peace, and God’s Nudges

When you follow God's will for your life, you can see how yesterday's events prepared you for today's challenges and tomorrow's opportunities.

— David Jeremiah —

When I saw the opening quote it reminded me of a nudge I received from God a few months ago encouraging me to retire for good from the pharmacy profession. You may recall that I had “retired” from the pharmacy industry in 2010 but reentered the arena in 2017.

After looking back, there were several reasons for this nudge to exit, but none more clearly than the fact He had a couple of opportunities for me through my business consulting company (JMeyer Strategies) that would fully utilize my professional gifts of leadership, strategy, and coaching.

I haven’t felt this fulfilled and at peace in my professional life for years…simply a result of obeying a nudge from God.

It’s very difficult to feel God’s nudges if you aren’t aligned with His will and thus the reason I start every day studying His word and praying my day over to Him.

“God’s plans for you are better than any plans you have for yourself. So don’t be afraid of God’s will, even if it’s different from yours.” ~ Greg Laurie

What gift is God nudging you to share with the world?

Sharing our unique talents and gifts with others is a great way to please God and have inner peace…I write from experience.

Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (NLT)

Journal your thoughts:

What am I grateful for today?

In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?

What will I deny myself so I may draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?

Prayer:

God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
