Strengths & Gifts to Live By

Let us live so that when we come to die, even the undertaker will be sorry.

— Mark Twain —

I love the quote above.  What a great way to live!

Designing your own personal playing field of life is a great way to enable yourself to live the way Twain is referring to in his quote.

imageIdentifying and leveraging our God-given gifts and strengths are critical steps in designing our life playing field.

Do you know what your strengths and gifts are?

What are you really good at?

What seems to come naturally to you?

What do you love to do?

My wife is a gifted listener and learner.  We can be watching the same documentary on television and when we discuss it at a later date,  I often feel as though we weren’t watching the same program.

I have a futuristic strength.  I’ve always had the ability to not only see what everyone else sees but I’m often able to look several steps into the future and generate ideas that others do not think of…you can only imagine what my dear listening and learner wife must endure when I share my visions with her. 🙂

Take a stab at jotting some strengths and gifts in your journal.

More on this tomorrow.

Romans 12:6-8, “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them:  if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy; cheerfulness.”  (ESV)
