“Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties.” ~Erich Fromm
I received this email from my friend Clark Miller, in response to my blog yesterday and wanted to share it with you:
Creativity, I am convinced, takes many forms. For some, it is what we typically classify as art: painting, sculpture, pottery. But some create other through art forms such as communication, carpentry, engineering, relational intuition. Etc. However, in all the expressions of who God has made us, “we know that we belong to God, even though the world lies in the power (as temporal as it is) of the evil one” 1 John 5:19.
It is recognizing God has placed in us the seeds of creativity (in His image), knowing we are His, and letting that which God has placed within us to creatively and confidently flow in whatever art form, & not letting the confines of the world, held in the power of the evil one, to squelch that creativity. It is at this intersection that we find true worship. You and Lori got me to thinking this morning. It makes sense to me -not sure I said it in such a way it makes sense to others. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great stuff!
Thanks Clark!
