Amen…if I’m not the problem, there is no solution.
I used to be an excuse machine until I was introduced to the Serenity Prayer. Today, whenever the committee in my head slams the gavel and calls an “excuse meeting” to order, I start praying the Serenity Prayer.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change (other people, places & things).
Courage to change the things I can (me).
And the wisdom to know the difference (which eliminates all excuses).

Proverbs 24:30-34, “I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of a man lacking sense, and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns; the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down. Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction. A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.” (ESV)
…this is one of my all time favorite pieces of scripture!
