Time is what we want most, but what we use worst. ~William Penn
Thought
When reflecting upon the words of Peck and Penn, it struck me how important it is to be of sound mind, body, and spirit if we want to have the energy it takes to make the most of our time on earth.
Questions
- What is one good thing you will feed your spirit today?
- What is one good thing you will feed your mind today?
- What is one good thing you will feed your body today?
My Answers
- At least fifteen minutes of reading the latest book I’m traversing: Hidden Potential, The Science of Achieving Greater Things, by Adam Grant. (Nourishing my Mind)
- At least thirty minutes of meditation, prayer, and journaling. (Nourishing my Spirit)
- At least forty-five minutes of rigorous exercise. (Nourishing my Body)
These are all daily habits for me.
I call it my 15-30-45 routine.
Facts
If you looked at the time that I commit each day to nourish my mind, body, and spirit and shook your head and thought, “There is no way I can find 90 minutes in my day to take care of myself.”
There’s your sign…you need to start taking care of yourself.
Ninety minutes is easy to find because…
We waste more time reading, talking, doing, and worrying about things that don’t matter than taking care of ourselves.
I always write from experience.
Isaiah 40:28-31, “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
