November Energy and To-Do

Put yourself at the top of your to-do list every single day, and the rest will fall into place.

Reflection

A statement I often heard while attending AA meetings was, “Your recovery is a selfish program.”

I recall asking my AA sponsor how to justify working a selfish program after my addiction born from selfishness and self-centeredness had nearly wrecked my life. He explained that all aspects of my life would rise and fall to my sobriety level, BUT my recovery was not exclusive to my other roles and responsibilities.

The way I heard all of this was that if I didn’t maintain my sobriety, I might as well say “goodbye” in adding any value to my roles and responsibilities.

For the past thirty-four years, I’ve been making it a point to keep myself atop my to-do list.

Being good to myself helps me bring good to the world.

Where are you on your to-do list?

1 Corinthians 3:16-17, “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.”
