Some of you may have heard of Randy Pausch. He wrote the New York Times bestseller, “The Last Lecture.” If you haven’t read it, I suggest you do…it will not disappoint.
Although I attributed the opening quote to Pausch, what he said was this:
The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough, they’re there to stop the other people.
Questions
How many times do we give up the minute we face resistance?
What walls do you feel like you are up against?
What struggles are causing you to want to “throw in the towel?”
Solution
God is the best tool I can use when facing a brick wall. When I seek Him, when facing a “wall,” He often reveals ways to overcome it that I would have never thought of myself. In essence, He helps me “see through the wall.”
Isaiah 40:31, But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
God is a wall crusher…I write from experience.
