Romans 12:1 (NIV), “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship.”
Today we close out the discussion on the physical component of our Wheel of Life.
Due to never ending technological advances, we live in a world where speed means everything. The bad news is I watch a lot of people run themselves ragged trying to keep up with the world.
Our bodies can only take so much and they can take even less if we aren’t taking care of them.
Paul’s words from Romans 12:1 above is what drives me to do my best to take care of my body. The question we must ask ourselves is this: “Is the way I’m treating my body pleasing to God?”
Are my nutritional habits pleasing to God?
Are my sleeping habits pleasing to God?
Are my exercise habits pleasing to God?
I’ve watched a fair share of people shorten their lives and/or live in constant physical distress because they refused or couldn’t slow down enough to focus on taking care of themselves physically.
Sometimes you need to slow down in order to speed up.
