Thought
I am so lucky that the windows from my exercise room are situated in such a way that I am privy to some gorgeous sunrises.
The other day as I was doing a bike workout on my spinner I took notice of a morning dawn that most likely was about to present me with one of these amazing such sunrises.
I remember thinking to myself, “2020 sure has blessed us with some beautiful sunrise experiences.”
I found myself quickly correcting that thought by thinking, “Amazing sunrises have always been there but obviously I haven’t.”
Reflection
I’ve seen more magnificent sunrises than ever before because my eyes are open to what really matters.
Personally, I believe it took loss and grief to open my eyes.
Much craziness has taken place over the last eighteen months but losing three people you dearly love in a twelve-month span has a way of opening one’s eyes.
The enemy tries its best to get us to focus on things that don’t matter in order to close our eyes to the things that do matter.
Where is your focus?
What really matters in your life?
Is your focus on the people, places, and things that matter?

1 Peter, 3:3-4, “Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”
