The opening quote sparked a train of thought yesterday morning.
Observation
At this particular juncture in our world’s history, there seems to be a lot of unhappiness.
Maybe it’s always existed at its current level, but because everyone has the ability to share their thoughts through their own news feed via social media–it appears to be quite a bit more abundant these days.
I’ve observed people who are unhappy with political leadership.
I’ve observed people who are unhappy with mask mandates.
I’ve observed people who are unhappy with the results of the most recent presidential election results.
I’ve observed people who aren’t happy with the way the COVID-19 data is compiled.
Thoughts
It’s human nature to be disappointed with outcomes and mandates with which we do not agree.
What we do with all of our disappointments will determine our happiness.
Fact
Happiness is an inside job born from the freedom we receive by having a personal relationship with Jesus.
As a Christ-follower, my happiness is not dependent upon other people, places, things, and situations.
Note to self.
Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law.”
