Revealing Riches

The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own.

— Benjamin Disraeli —

Reflection

The opening quote reminded me of a time early in my second professional career of coaching others when I asked to meet with one of my business mentors. I was frustrated and stressed and needed an “oil change and a new filter.”

We talked for a few hours, and I asked him several questions about business and life. For two hours, he thoroughly beat me up and built me up, and I walked away a “richer” man.

I spend the majority of my life helping others, and it’s impossible to do so effectively if my engine isn’t running smoothly.

Life is not meant to be “done alone.” We need mentors, and we need to mentor others.

What gifts do you need to pass on to others?  Who can help you add richness to your gifts?

Philippians 2:4, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also the interests of others.”
