Slow and Steady

It's the steady, quiet, plodding ones, who win in the lifelong race.

Read and reflect on the quote above.

Creating and living a life of purpose takes time, energy, effort and focus.

imageHow is your life playing field shaping up?

Have you figured out your Why/Purpose yet?

What do you stand for (guiding principles)?

What are your strengths and gifts?

What are your priorities?

There is one area left to discuss when it comes to the boundary portion of your life playing field:  your passions.

If you haven’t figured out your purpose yet, most of the time it is discovered in your passions.

Just like our gifts and strengths, I believe God has wired us to be passionate about certain things.

Just because we are passionate about something, doesn’t mean we will automatically be good at it.

Perfecting our passion takes practice.

I have a passion for writing.  I’m still not very good at it but because of a fire that burns inside of me I practice writing every day and when I’m not writing, I’m reading a well written book.

Do I need to write?  No.  Do I make a bunch of money from writing?  No.  Will I become famous from writing?  No.  Do I help people through my writing?  I believe I do.

Through my writing I am able to fulfill my purpose in helping others become more than they think they can be.  By writing, I am able help others but still remain true to an important priority of providing care for our son Jordan because writing is something I can do at home and on my time.

I will be writing until the day I die.  I will also be providing care for Jordan until the day I die.

What are you passionate about?  What do you do that requires no payment and no recognition but when you do it, it feels very rewarding?

Back to the opening quote…my passion for writing began eight years ago…I just keep plodding along.

What do you need to just keep plodding along with?
