Thin Line*

“There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt.”  ~Erma Bombeck

Yesterday at the Vectren Air Show in Vandalia, Ohio a wing walker and her pilot lost their lives.  I happened to be watching television when the news hit and there was a video of the the accident.  A couple of seconds before the crash the announcer of the air show said something to the extent of “look at Jane Wicker, she is sitting on top of the world.” Jane Wicker was the wing walker.

Such is life, one second we can be sitting on top of the world and the next second we can be gone.

I have two questions for you:

1.  When your day comes are you ready?  In other words have you taken care of all loose ends?  More importantly have you forgiven and sought forgiveness?

2.  Do you know where you are going when your life on earth is over?

A friend of mine sent me an email this morning and I feel he did a wonderful job of describing what faith is and what it can do for you:

I know that for me I am growing to the place that not much phases me anymore.  That as life throws me the curves, or I hear of news of gravity (still working on injustice especially to children)…, I no longer judge the appearance of good, bad, or indifferent – but know that “it” doesn’t exist without God’s knowledge and trust that somehow good will come and that I or another will be drawn closer to God and His purpose.

I don’t know where you are in your faith journey but when you reach the point of understanding “it” doesn’t exist without God’s knowledge and you are able to trust that somehow good will come and someone will be drawn closer to God and His purpose when “it” happens, life becomes a little easier to live.
