Two Hundred Miles of Thoughts and Butt Aches

All growth starts at the end of your comfort zone.

— Tony Robbins —

The following is a thought from two years ago…

Thoughts from the bike…

The other day I was catching up with an old friend, and he asked me how I kept myself busy during the pandemic.

I told him I had amped my exercise regimen because it helped me cope with the pandemic’s partner — anxiety.

I shared that I had just completed two hundred miles of bicycle riding in the last five days, and he immediately said, “How do you ride a bike for that long? My butt aches badly after five or six miles.”

I just laughed and told him I had an ergonomically kind seat.

My butt aches every time I ride, too, but eventually, it either becomes numb or I forget about it.

I’m not about to allow a butt ache to interrupt the joys of riding my bicycle.

Growth in any aspect of our life requires us to take on the feelings associated with being uncomfortable.
