“You cannot expect money until you learn how to respect money.” ~Joyce Meyer
I love watching Joyce Meyer in the morning. She is so practical yet so deep, so serious, yet funny. She is effective because she has lived on both sides of the tracks. As I would say, “she writes and teaches from experience.”
The other day she was talking about breaking habits and discussing the horrible spending problem the people in our country have (of course we all have a great role model in our federal government…whoops I digressed again).
I tell people I mentor that in all the many accomplishments the Good Lord has blessed our family with, the greatest was and is to get out of and stay out of debt.
For a long time I treated debt as it was simply a part of life and that is the devil’s goal. Thank God I have a wife who has taught me how to live simple!
Once I began to experience the blessings that came with getting out of debt we understood even more how debt truly is the devil’s tool. It weighs us down, it holds us back, it makes our decisions for us.
The greatest blessing being debt free has allowed us is to help others in need.
At the end of the day all the wealth in the world is God’s and it is distributed to us in various ways. How we handle our money is definitely observed by God and that point takes us right back to Joyce Meyer’s quote above, and the scripture verse below.
Debt sucks, get out of it, no matter how painful and long it takes, and get ready for the blessings to pour in.
I write from experience.
