“Wisdom outweighs any wealth.” ~Sophocles
Wisdom trumps everything…that is if you are looking at building a God-grounded, life of purpose.
Read 1 Kings 3:5-15. In this scripture God comes to Solomon in a dream and basically tells Solomon to ask Him for anything and He will give it to him.
Solomon doesn’t ask for wealth, fame or stardom. He doesn’t ask for a vacation home in Bali, Bora Bora or Maui; Solomon asks for WISDOM . God not only gives Solomon wisdom but because Solomon first sought wisdom prior to anything else, God blessed him abundantly with wealth and honor.
Proverbs 3:13-18, “Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed.”
Growth in wisdom will only happen if we are willing to admit we don’t have all the answers…the wiser I become the more I realize how little I know.
